Day 7: River of Stones
January 8, 2012
We’ve grown so familiar on our walk
that dogs don’t bother to rise from their naps
to bark at us. The squirrels ignore us.
Even the deer wait just until we pass
before crossing the road behind us.
Only the crows seem indignant
enough at our trespass into their territory
to raise a ruckus behind our backs.
