About Me

I am a native of Alabama transplanted in North Carolina.  Fortunately, I don’t have divided loyalties.  During football season, I cheer for the Crimson Tide and in basketball season, I am a Tar Heel fan.  The dichotomies don’t end there. I was an accounting major when I earned my undergraduate degree at David Lipscomb College (now Lipscomb University); later I returned to the University of North Alabama for a Master’s Degree in English Education.

That degree took, and I’ve been teaching English since 1990, first at the secondary level and for the last three years at Caldwell Community College. I am fortunate to get to use (and share) my love for language–reading and writing–with my students.
